Botulinum Toxin Type A is the wrinkle reducing injection treatment. It’s also known as Botox, which is actually a brand name supplied by Allergan. These treatments were first licensed for cosmetic use in the early 2000’s.

Since then, various competitor brands have appeared on the market, including Bocouture, which was developed by Merz Pharmaceuticals. Another brand is Dysport. We use Bocouture for all our treatment, but this depends on the prescription and the choice of the individual. It is also one of the newest on the market and used predominantly in Europe, while Dysport and Botox are mainly North American.
